Dear Delegates and Distinguished Guests, As the Secretary -General, it is my pleasure to welcome you all to the Erasmus Model United Nations project meeting that will be hosted at I.I.S.S. Fermi School, in Lecce. We are committed to creating an atmosphere that is both efficient and cordial, where every delegate has the opportunity to take the floor, participate and learn in this notable conference where five countries Italy, Spain, Portugal, Lithuania, and Turkey confront with one of the most pressing issues the world is facing: the peace keeping, the maintenance of international peace and security We endeavor to enhance the personal, academic and professional growth of each delegate with a view to developing those skills that are fundamental to the world of the Model United Nations and to the good relations with conferee during the activities outside of the MUN sessions. There is no doubt that our fraying world needs international cooperation more than ever and we see this conference as an excellent opportunity to showcase the United Nations as a centre for solutions and a driver for meaningful, positive change in people’s lives. We do believe in the power of global cooperation to solve global problems and in the participation of young people in democratic and civilian life to contribute to the peace keeping. That is the reason why the overarching focus of EUROPEAN UNION VALUES COMMITTEE for this meeting is the maintenance of international peace and security. Tensions are boiling over and everyday people always pay the highest price. We have no time to lose. This is the moment to cool tensions. This is also the time to promote dialogue and pave the way to political solutions to the conflicts So be prepared to discuss about contribution to maintain peaceful relations between nations, to keep peace, to reduce arms trade and cyber attacks. In this age of recurring wars, it is unquestionably important to be able to come together to set the grounds for long lasting peace and find ways to ensure safety and well-being. After saying that, I am looking forward to seeing you all in my home country in Lecce, Italy for the participation in our project that will be held from the 23rd of April to 27th of April, and I am eager to share this incredibly exciting experience with you. Also, Participation of Young People in Democratic and Civilian Life-Respect to Differences (Tolerance and Inter-religious Dialogue), EU Citizenship -Anti racism. Agenda Item was THE MAINTENANCE OF INTERNATIONAL PEACE AND CYBER SECURITY. Methodology The organization team of the MUN was composed of host country’s students. The host country created their organization team 30 days before the mobility. They made a poster announcing the MUN activity in their country. The organization team announced the MUN in local and national platforms and made its organization scheme by communicating with partner schools’ students and associated partners of the host country in 25 days to distribute the duties of the academic team as Secretary General, Director General, Chairs, Deputy Chairs, Admins and Deputy director. After duties were distributed, the chair board decided which delegate would represent which country and prepared the study guide of the committee and sent it in e-mail to the delegates. By this way, the delegates were given 20 days to get prepared for the committee before the mobility. Other students and teachers could follow and join MUN sessions at school during mobility. Italy was basically responsible for every means of communication during project activities. The coordinator teacher of Italy always kept these communication organs active and made sure that all the participants took part in these organs. LTT 1st day: All the participants met; project partners and associated partners introduced their schools and countries. The delegates were registered. Secretary General made a meeting describing the MUN committee. During the other LTT days continued. Each session lasted one and a half an hour.
